Specializing in ballistic, blast, frag and fire protection, the BlastTac line can provide comprehensive safety solutions to a variety of industries worldwide. Combined with our installation and maintenance capabilities, the JBS Group and BlastTac guarantee an easy client experience from start to finish.

Oil Rig Challenges

Every two to three weeks, all offshore rigs perform BOP/Manifold pressure tests. Testing requires rig floor operations to shut down, which is costly for rig contractors and operators. The SB Series is designed to reduce the hours lost to testing every year.

Introducing, all new for 2018, SB72FM Series of blast curtains and blast blankets engineered specifically for blast, ballistics, frag, fire and arc flash protection on gas and oil rigs.

The BlastTac Solution

The SB72FM Series is effective against both deformable and non-deformable threats, which are more prevalent and lethal than bullets. SB Series blast curtains and blast blankets are UL752 tested to levels 1, 2, 2+, 3 and 3+. The USA military and police forces also employ this series for protection against gunfire and explosions. BlastTac blast curtains and blast blankets are lightweight, mobile and durable providing for long lasting protection.

The SB72FM Series is equipped to provide reliable safety barriers against high pressure projectiles, blasts and fragments. We install the blast curtains around the stand pipe and choke manifold. We install them with fixed runner rails so that they will close and extend easily. They can be conveniently stored away for when they are not in use.

Independently tested and certified by Chesapeake Testing Labs, located in North Carolina, BlastTac blast curtains and blast blankets are tested in accordance with U.S. Military, UL standards and ASTM International Test Standards. An independent assessment was also performed by DNV GL to confirm that the SB Series is equipped to survive oil and gas applications.

FireMax® Fireproof Protection

For high-temperature and fire protection, the SB72FM Series features new FireMax 777 technology. This woven fabric is designed to survive fire, heat and arc flash using a single blast curtain. Constructed to be truly non-flammable, FireMax material will not burn, melt or ignite and will shed molten metal, certain chemicals, flammable liquids and other molten substances. It is breathable, water resistant and durable in harsh weather conditions.

Additional Services

Through an annual maintenance contract, we can extend the life cycle of your installation for up to 5-10 years. Test bay and workshop applications are available as well as compact and portable options for on-site pressure testing. This technology can be used across a wide range of industries where personnel are exposed to gas lines, pressure vessels, high pressure piping, gas charged equipment, explosives and more.

BlastTac blast curtains and blast blankets are incredibly lightweight and more effective than steel. Our blast curtains and blast blankets are military grade and manufactured at Breton Industries in Amsterdam, NY.  Breton Industries is a U.S. Military Contractor established in 1949.
